Earth and Rain

Rainy days at our workshop stretch longer than the clear. Cloud cover disperses sunlight so that each hour shines equally dim and grey. The continuous rainfall sounds a similarly undifferentiated background. One leaf falls; another blossom opens. An adult dove feeds a hatchling. Bark from a juniper lays as mulch above the drenched soil. Roots uptake to branches and foliage that transpire. A short vision of eternity in the passing day: all is earth and rain.
